65TH REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS AT AIR FORCE STATION JAISALMER
On the occasion of 65th Republic Day a host of events was organised at Air Force Station Jaisalmer. Air Commodore Chandramauli, Vishisht Seva Medal, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Jaisalmer along with Mrs Shalini Singh, President Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Local) were the Chief Guests on the occasion.
Highlights of the celebration:
The celebration started with flag hoisting by the Chief Guest followed by a colourful cultural programme presented by the students of Air Force School Jaisalmer. Chief guests and dignitaries praised the exhibits displayed by the students of Air Force School. Mrs, Shalini Singh, President, AFWWA(L) distributed sweets among the students.
As a part of Celebration a team comprising of 18 physically challenged children from Hyderabad presented some breath taking performances at the Station Sports Grounds, which left the audience spell bound. The programme included Bharat Natyam, Sufi dance, Yoga and Marshal Art on Wheel Chair apart from entertainment programme based on social issues.
Barakhana was organised at the Airmen and DSC messes, where the Air Officer Commanding interacted with Air Warriors and DSC personnel. A social evening was also organised at Officers’ Mess in the evening. Social evening was graced by various civil dignitaries and retired Officers.
Message by Air Officer Commanding
In his Republic Day message, Air Officer Commanding emphasized on the importance of Republic Day for the country and urged the air warriors to make a resolution to protect the democratic values of the nation. He also motivated them to make whole hearted contribution in nation building.
